Hallucinations are Real II Chris & Kate

hunter-with-a-secret-past:

Chris took a step closer, keeping a firm grip on his pistol but only lowering it a fraction. He had heard of creatures that could shift into the form of the dead so he wasn’t taking his chances. He stopped 5 feet away from Kate, not wanting to push his luck any further than that. “H-How…when?” Chris stammered as he looked over his recently dead sister. Clearing his throat he straightened himself up a bit, his gun falling to his side slightly with his hand still on the trigger.

He took a couple of deep breaths to calm his racing mind before looking back at her. She was there, in the flesh. He had no idea how it was possible or if he should be looking over his shoulder for Victoria but in that moment he didn’t care, his baby sister was alive and speaking to him. “How is this possible?” the older hunter asked out loud one of the many questions floating through his mind “I watched P-Peter kill you…I was there when they closed your body into a casket and lowered it into the ground. I-I have been to your grave many times since then. Mourning you death and the fact that I let my own emotions get in the way of stopping Peter from taking you from us though he was only doing what was needed for you breaking the code and our treaty with the Hale pack. I’m sorry, Kate. I’m not trying to sound like I don’t care that you are back or that I’m not happy…it’s just a lot to take in.”

Kate crossed her arms over her chest, her tongue slowly running across her lips as she listened to her brother ramble. He was still just the same as she remembered, the big brother that ran his mouth a shitload instead of just saying hello. It actually kind of made her chuckle, she didn’t realize how much she had missed it until now. “Still the same as always I see. No ‘hey sis nice to see you i’m glad you’re not dead’. Always the logical one, huh?” she teased, taking a step forward to close the distance between them. “If I knew what the hell was going on, I would tell you. But all I know is I woke up, and I don’t even hardly remember anything that wasn’t a huge event, like the one that ruined my life. I’m just glad to have a beating heart, really.”
